Guatemala 2026

I took around 500 pictures

The albums do contain a few pictures I got from others. Because I had so many pictures it made sense to split them up into days. I culled through them trying to show as many people as I could. I primarily worked on Lucia's kitchen so the pictures are skewed toward that worksite and the other places  I  visited. Now that I had 9 albums I needed a website for the 9 links so I threw together this one. Access the albums from the Navbar up top.

Identification and Captions

With Betsy's help I was able to identify almost everyone. For sure if a face showed it ended up in the caption. On some pictures with a lot of people there wasn't enough room to display the complete caption.

Send me Pictures

If you have some pictures send them to me at full size unedited (some editors wipe out the date taken). Once I accumulate more I'll add them to the albums. Text message is best (include your name) but you can email too.I mostly have selfies of myself so it would nice to have some other pictures. Contact info below

We walked out our hotel around 8:30am to see the world-famous Chichicastenango market. We visited the 2 churches that face  each other across the plaza and the Gucumatz Arch. After lunch Ken Fong gave us a tour of the colorful Chichi cemetery on a hill behind  the city.

Day 6 - Mar 9 School and Milk

Arrived at the Rosario School around 9am where  the kids put on a program for us. We entertained the kids with bubbles, stomp rockets and a parachute.  We left at noon and had lunch at the Lemoa Methodist camp.   We spent from around 2pm to 4pm distributing powdered milk.

Day 7 - Mar 10 Last Work Day

We got out to the work site at 9am and layed blocks all day. This was our last work day. Betsy Keyack said a few words in passing at each site and Robin Peterson gifted blankets to Angelica and Lucia.  We finished all the block work on Angelica's home and 1/2 the blocks on Lucia's kitchen.

Day 8 - Mar 11 to Antigua

We had breakfast and got the bus to Antigua at 9am. We stopped at  a cool rest stop with the mountains in the background. Arrived at the hotel Camelias Inn in Antigua  close to 1pm. Rooms weren't ready so  we all took off to find lunch and go shopping for suveniers.  The rooms were ready around 4..  We headed out to have a nice dinner around 6:30.

Day 9 - Mar 12 Home

We got up at 6am because we had to get on the road to Guatemala City because the traffic is so bad. The hotel prepared bag lunches since we weren't able to have the breakfast buffet.  We left Antigua at 7am and made it to the airport around 9:11am.  We checked bags and went through immigration and then walked to our gate. We had a couple of hours to kill.  We  left Guatemala around 1:30pm. We had a layover in Houston where we went through customs.  We landed in Denver around 10:30 and were back at the church at 11:45pm.
